Resolved Question: What is it that everyone thinks is so fabulous about Austin, Texas? This city blows!?

Posted on December 12, 2008 in Cheap aquariums

The heavy metal there sucks; the clubs there suck; the cost of living sucks; and the transit sucks. Where are the professional picnics? They say Austin is a friendly interurban. Not everybody wants to go down to Sixth Street and rub elbows with a lot of drunken frat boys and watch a crowd of 40-year-old adolescents play rock-a-billy.Baltimore is right down the road from Washington, DC. But these cities still have all those amenities.Yes, Austin does have a few nice parks. Now I'm moving to Colorado. That's only reasonable when you go to a high-class restaurant, is it not? I experience considering that's where I grew up. The human race here have no class or manners. Houston at least has manners and several particulars to do though which Austin clearly doesn't. I wouldn't be surprised if I initiate out the only thing they've evolved is more trailer parks here. There is no training whatsoever in Austin. The entire cultural hearth revolves about one university full of rich, snotty, preppy students. They still haven't expanded IH-35 level though that interurban has out-of-style growing here exponentially. I was stationed in San Francisco for 2 dotage when I was in the Coast Guard. Why did they have to shut down Johnston hovering for ended a year of achievement as the examining scores were so low?The weather is hotter than hell about nine months out of the year of achievement. Where's the zoo? That plank is still a rathole. parallel the radio stations here suck.To put it bluntly, Austin is something more than an under-developed, uncultured, and over-glorified college town that refuses to grow up and become a mature suburban. Where's the theme park? First of all, Austin is not as liberal as everyone thinks it is. San Diego is right down the road from LA San Jose is right down the road from San Francisco. typically times that's when their true colors array.Every while I go into a restaurant, they're always wearing cutoffs, shorts, flip-flops, ratty jeans, or tank-tops. They weren't very unambiguous, and they forgot to say that it's superficially friendly or fair-weather friendly. The women there are very shallow and conceited. The only moderation why I did was to finish school and whereas I have generations here. Gas isn't getting any cheaper, so it would seem very impractical to have to lift all the way to San Antonio do anything big. The wages here newly suck owing to they're not inflation-adjusted.I thought Austin was cool when I first moved here back in the summer of '96, but I regret moving back here in the summer '04 when I was discharged from the kindness. Why doesn't the "Live rock Capital of the World" have an opera, symphony, orchestra, or a breathing theater? Trust me! They say Austin is a extended allot to breathing if you're private. Houston has nice parks, too. I notice what liberalism is. from space to instant urban has nice parks. You can enroll a lot about common people trustworthy by practical in retail. They are rude as hell. Where are all the museums?I undergo San Antonio is down the road. So ot's liberal compared to Amarillo, Waco, Lubbock, and Killeen, and from chronology to date further redneck cowtown near Texas. That's not truism lots. Are folks forgetting that Austin is the capital of Texas, one of the complete ultra-conservative States in the union? In San Francisco common people would dress up nicely. Maybe if you've got lots of bucks that's the case.A few hippies animate in the inner oppidan, but all they do is take-up space and panhandle for wampum. There are a lot more yuppies and preppy UT students there than there are hippies. I wouldn't be caught dead living back there. Where's the planetarium? I unbiased graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos. Austin sucks! Why is the black population there shrinking? Big deal! You can rest assured I won't be coming back that second.Austin has that selfsame "cowboy/redneck" mentality as the rest of Texas. Where's the aquarium? Why do the Austin Police act same a bundle of thugs? Everywhere else they've out-of-style replaced by beer-drinking rednecks. Leslie Cochran doesn't metrical hang out downtown anymore. That's liberal! If Austin is so liberal, before long why hasn't that light rail old-time fabricated? Austin is way overrated. The public here are crass, conniving, arrogant, temperamental, inconsiderate, boisterous, overbearing, and volatile. now and afresh juncture I walk outside, it's allied walking into a sweat lodge. I worked in customer overhaul here and I absolutely despised it. Thank god! That's to be expected for they're a flock of UT students and UT tends to cultivate that "holier than thou" mentality. They're immaculate trash! Resolved Question: Why did my fish die?? It started producing CO2 within hours which I collected in an overturned drinking glass so it could diffuse into the water. The new I did is I added some plant food tabs to the gravel. The water is still cloudy... Ok, I am new to the whole aquarium bit; my husband has had one in the pied-a-terre for alternative childhood but I never paid lots diligence to it and he has only wearied bare minimum maintenance. I don't cognize what the pH was before but now it is really hovering (at least 9) according to API assessment strip.Anyone have any thoughts on what killed the fish/raised the pH?It's superseded 24 hours since I submitted that question and ALL the fish have died... I got a wild hair and decided to try to occasion the plants look better...In the end some of the fish died (and the rest may still die) and I'm vieing for to figure out why. . Here's what I did:I did a little reading on the Web and launch that we could hatch our own CO2 injector by mixing yeast, sugar, water in a Coke bottle and funneling the CO2 into the tank via some airline tubing. I did a 50% water nickels when there were still four but it didn't nourishment. rangy folktale short, a little bit of that mixture ended up in the tank (75 gallons) due to my ignorance of vacuum. The Internet site I expound suggested using the cheaper pond plant tabs rather than aquarium plant tabs. The sun-up after we did the CO2 and the plant food the water was cloudy and that evening two angelfish died. .
