Posted on December 17, 2008 in Fish tank gravel

and The $1 tank it's a fairly pleasing size~!Oh and how usually do i clean the tank fewer next a 2 gallon tank? Betta Fish: $3Betta Water Conditioner: $3Fish tank: $1Food: $3Gravel: $2Water Plant: $3Is that enough already? Voting Question: Betta Fish experts..will this work? is that gona be ok?im planning on having conscious plants in there, ive heard bout gravle with bacteria courtesy in it but im not decided what its all about or where to try and boast it in the uki can only really fit 20liters aswell.as asked the guy in the shop and he sed the neons would be solid in there with the betta.id feel bad upright having the little betta all on his own. but i more wana do whats bad for the fishthe betta fish ive superseded seeing at have all outworn in tanks with neons and the tanks are smaller than what im getting (with bout 30 neons and a betta in there)(doing far to lots extra details here)the tank ive begin is really wide but not overly tall so its got a mungo area that the fish will usedi dnt wana be alarmed lazy as i have out b4, but will having shrimp and aware plants aid keep my tank cleaner?are soon after any further fish that could cope living outwardly their own cast but with a betta?so two fish that dnt equal their own speicies? ok so im seeing at moving into the macrocosm of tropical fish and having spent my research, institute that the finest commence fish is most likely the beautiful betta (which im very happy about) my plan is to get a 20liter tank and a little heatercouple of nice cover plants and rocksobviously a betta fishand when a inadequate group of neon tetras (bout 5)as its going in my bedroom i can really have a noise pump/filter so im planing to do a 1/3 water pin acreage at times couple of days and formerly a bigger copper (plus gravel hoover thing) once a week. and are not too hard to look after with some grindstone, and dnt get to be too big (so would be happy in 20liters for life)

Resolved Question: I have a 45 gallon aquarium meant for marine fish. Where to start on making it a reef tank?

Posted on December 17, 2008 in Fish tank filters

70 degress is a HEAT WAVEPROTEIN SKIMMER NECESSARY FOR THIS SIZE?(rounded front corners)Its dimensions are:exactly 3ft or 36in in length15in deepand 16in tallANY information on this would be an amazing help. This was meant to be used for a marine tank. I recently came by the biggest steal of my life (so far). Hi there. I would like to find out if there is a stronger marine aqua light for this oddly shaped tank. I will pay attention to details in the answers and will be sure to grand a best answer!THANK YOU!!Done two years of marine aquarium research.Dont live in a hot place- fog city San Francisco. This acrylic tanks top, liek most acrylics have the folded in top, with a large slit on the back for filtartion mechanisms, a hole for wiring powerheads/heater, and two large, divided openings in the middle. :) PLEASE read ALL of this for best infoFor FREE, from my aunt, I have acquired a 45 gallon marine acrylic tank, with teak stand, a FluVal 304 canister filter with all necessities, a fully functional undergravel filter with 2 (very) strong power heads, an Aquaclear 50 gallon hang on filter, and a heater that works perfectly with its tank size. what are the basic things I should buy/replace. With the tools already at hand, what other equipment/test kits do I need to get this started and an estimate in price?(btw i have a gravitometer already) outside of obvious live rock/sand etc. On these two holes a plastic hood with a single 20w (lame..) freash water flourescent light is mounted. My question is this. It even comes with a plastic hood (more details in a bit) and multiple air pumps, tubes, and air stones. Open Question: Black Moor Goldfish breathing in too much air? I don't have a filter because they live in a bowl not a tank. I know black moors are sensitive to dirty water, but I changed the water yesterday, so it's clean. My black moor is always almost at the top of the bowl sucking in air. Help!Is she okay? I bought two new fish, one red cap oranda fish and a black moor goldfish. The other one comes up occasionally comes up for air but swims most of the time, so I'm not worried about him. She swims sometimes but she's usually at the top.

Resolved Question: Need Help Stocking Oceanic BioCube Saltwater Aquarium!?

Posted on December 17, 2008 in Oceanic aquarium

(please elaborate)2.)My LFS thinks that a Watchmen Goby and a Pistol Shrimp is ideal for my setup, but I think I need more Live Sand for the shrimp. Here are the specs:10 lbs live sand (getting more, read on)55-60 lbs live rock (with 10-15 pounds in the middle chamber or the filter)Bio Cube Skimmer (made by Oceanic for the Cube)1 Banggai Cardinal2 Stubby Ocellaris Clownfish (Look them up, they're awesome)1 Coral Beauty AngelVarious Mushrooms1 Closed Brain Coral1 Small Hammer Coral1 Leather CoralA few Feather Dusters that came on some live rock4 Astrea Snails5 Blue Leg Hermits1 Cleaner ShrimpON to my questions:1.) Would you consider my tank overstocked, understocked, or just right? Any advice?3.)How many more snails/hermits do I need?4.)I need a coral for an open spot in the sand, any suggestions?5.)Any other general suggestions?Serpent Stars can eat fish when they get older. Also, you still think I'm overstocked even with all that live rock?I didn't change water for 3 weeks (live far away from RO/DI source, I'm good now though) and my Ammonia and Nitrite were zero, while Nitrate was 5!I have a bit of algae problem on the glass, but I purchased a Mag Float and that did the trick. I have a fully set up and cycled Oceanic Bio Cube 29 gallon aquarium that has been running for almost 2 months now with no problems. Resolved Question: Salt water Aquarium Setup order of placement? (Remember I will have live sand and rock to boost the "PH" level, at least I think it will)When should I begin to run my Remora Skimmer and Fluval Canister filter? And finally, some live rock that I am yet to buy. I want to know what order I should place all these items in and how long (in terms of days) between the placement of each. I dont want the freshly mixed saltwater to ruin my live sand or rock if I was to do it all at once. Also,Should I buy cured or uncured rock in my situation? I dont plan on adding fish right away, but also dont want uncured rock to mess with my water chemistry, making me wait a long time before i can add fish.Should I mix any additional additives/treatment to my RO treated Sparkletts water other than the salt? I just bought 60 Pounds Live Sand (Fiji Pink - Caribsea Brand, still in packaging), 12 five gallon Water bottles (Reverse Osmosis, Sparklets brand) that I am going to mix individually with Salt (Oceanic brand) prior to pouring in tank.
