Posted on December 17, 2008 in Freshwater tropical fish
The Nano tank is 16litres, and I will be keeping fry and a Betta Splendens and Shrimp in it at incommensurable periods of invention. Thanks! Thanks for your reports, everyone! If I used a carpet plant, would I not necessitate to siphon through the gravel? My querys are: how do you clean a Nano Aquarium if you use a carpet plant (lilaeopsis braziliensis), and how oftentimes do you clean it? I don’t hope to on using a filter of any sort, as a potentiality filter would sire the fry hide and possibly hurt them, and I cannot jewel an under-gravel filter to fit. I’m used to using a siphon to clean my larger fish tanks, and I have no purpose how to clean the gravel in a stunted and planted tank. Hi. Water changes are still not a problem. Thanks afresh! I could freely siphon debris off the carpet plant itself. I necessity to beget my own freshwater tropical Nano aquarium, but I’m a little confused. I’ll add some extra info. I’ve kept fish for lousy with agedness now and I’ve blameless started breeding angelfish, so I’m not really a beginner. I can calmly uproot plants to rinse them, so that’s not a problem. =D Voting Question: What is the white algae growing in my fish tank? It's the cotton-y stuff that forms clumps on plants. It gets a growth of wan, "whispy""stringy" growth on the glass. It's NOT the cotton-y stuff that forms clumps on plants. Do you grasp where I can maybe catch some identification sites. It forms sort of sporadically. It gets a growth of hoary, "whispy""stringy" growth on the glass. I have a 55 gallon tropical freshwater tank. It only attaches to the inside of the glass. maybe __ rangy a peice and | giant or smaller. They are in a semi-tropical aquarium now with 15 little snails, 3 minnows (feeder), 4 tetras, and 2 African dwarf frogs.I realize that it is most likely ancient history stocked.I did that objective now. The 15 else snails are very, very little. I have 4 big mystery snails and 15 puny snails (mystery??) but I thirst to move the 4 mystery snails into my goldfish aquarium. I don't craving to equitable add the snails in right away to the fresh tank but let them adjust to the water. They're inside of the petco bag I had for one of our fish when we got them that I haven't thrown away yet with old water hanging settled the side of the tank with them in the bag in the water in the aquarium. They will be going into a 29 gallon tank from my 10 gallon. Resolved Question: I found a small snail in my aquarium, but have never bought snails. Where did it come from? ? As well, I have ten gourami, two plecostomus, and two guppies. Could they have shown up from the bamboo? I do have two living bamboo plants that I introduced into my tank approximately four months ago. Now there seems to be nine - two diminutive, one slightly larger, all shortened than 8mm in length. In the beginning there was only one snail..

Resolved Question: Rainbow shark???
Posted on December 13, 2008 in Sharks freshwater aquarium
I don't really know what types of fish would go well with a rainbow shark. currently i have one rainbow shark and i have just now started adding plants. i have a 39 gallon freshwater tank that i would like to turn into a planted aquarium. thanks :)I would like to add different types of fish once i get everything ready. Can anyone suggest a few different groups of fish that would be compatible together as well as compatible with my rainbow shark and cover all areas of my tank? I would like a lot of variety like small, med, and maybe even larger fish. Resolved Question: Can you help my 55 gallon aquarium? Something crisp, clean and creative. I hardly have any fish in it and it just looks brown and run down. I had one idea of making it a beach scene. What kinds of fish?I tried live plants but I really don't have the time. I might have a few ottos in it too. It needs to be redone b/c it looks terrible. .I don't know what do you think? I love the beach! Ideas? It has some small albino cories, maybe some neons left and some phantom tetras. Hmmm...I'm looking for low maintenance. Seperating the and putting some blue gravel in one small part for the ocean and have palm trees. It is a freshwater with red/brown flourite gravel. I need ideas on how to decorate. Maybe put a dolphin decoration in the water and have a lifegaurd shark.
Resolved Question: Goldfish tank - is disgusting...?
Posted on December 13, 2008 in Goldfish plant
I did some of that in my tropical thanks to it wasn't that bad, in fact it was elegant clean but it had lots of algae so I cleaned the algae. It's stable more grosser than it was before I cleaned it!!! In a few weeks I'm gonna be putting in a couple living plants. I haven't accustomed it a stupendous cleaning in a while now, so I cleaned the filter (leaving a little bit of gunk in there for beneficial bacteria), cleaned a scoopfull of pebbles, changed about 1/3 - 1/2 of the water, cleaned the algae off the walls of the tank, cleaned the algae off of the artificial plants and decor, put in water clearer, and algae destroyer. it's horrible!!!What could I do to get the tank clean?! It's so gross I can't equal catch the fish!!! The tropical one is choice but the goldfish... The water in the goldfish tank (2 goldfish in a 29 gallon tank) was disgusting. I turned off the lamp and and put a blanket up the tank so no light could come in. Voting Question: Weird goldfish behavior? He is thriving in it but has started to do the weirdest thing: I bought several plastic plants to decorate the aquarium. He has started stacking gravel all up and down each plant until it finally lays down on the bottom. Any idea's?All of the plants now have gravel in them. If I shake out the gravel, he starts stacking it up the plant freshly. Hi, I blameless got my 10 year of achievement old goldfish a new larger tank.
